Predicting the future
plants and animals are on the move
Our planet is warming and this will affect everything that lives on it. We are able to project where animals and plants will be able to survive under various warming scenarios. Using this information we can examine:
- where agriculture is likely to be successful,
- where the probable biodiversity hotspots of the future may be found and protected,
- how disease vectors might shift with the shifting climate, or
- we can examine how a plant and its pollinator may stay linked to each other under differing levels of warming.
